Hands-on product & design leadership
I work with founders, CEOs and leadership teams at ambitious, product-led organisations, bringing product, design and commercial thinking to the decisions that shape their next phase of growth.
Most teams bring me in at one of these moments.
“We’ve raised money. Now we need to deliver.”
You have ambitious growth targets, but the organisation isn’t yet equipped to turn them into clear priorities and consistent execution.
“We need to respond to what’s changing.”
Your market, customers or competitive landscape has shifted. You need to understand what it means and decide what to do next.
“We have a difficult product or customer problem to solve.”
Something isn’t working as it should. You need experienced product and design leadership to understand the problem, find the opportunity and turn it into action.
Neil is simply brilliant — as capable of operating a company as he is a department.

Work that made a difference
Cutting onboarding lead time from 6 weeks to 3.
Diagnosed where the time was being lost, identified the biggest constraints and turned the findings into a phased delivery plan and working prototype.
Built and launched a new padel racket brand from scratch.
Took Polesdon from initial proposition through sourcing and launch, validating demand and a £200+ price point without existing brand equity.
Built an in-house design practice and product operating model.
Set the direction and ways of working, then built the team and capability to run it.
Turned a $10k+ product into a self-serve digital experience.
Led the website transformation for a NASDAQ-listed expedition cruise company against an 18-month roadmap.
I build capability.
Not dependency.
I work alongside teams, not around them.
The goal isn’t to create a long-term reliance on a consultant. It’s to leave people with clearer direction, stronger ways of working and the capability to keep moving.

We brought Neil in on a fractional basis in 2026 to help us grow. Our value proposition had stopped landing and we knew we needed to pivot, but we didn’t have the answers ourselves.
Through well-structured workshops, Neil guided us to a new value proposition and helped us productise our service offering, including a new business development tool and a sharper GTM pitch. From there he led the website redesign and shaped the story we now use with confidence in front of target customers.
We’re now going to market with a story we actually believe in, and Neil built that with us.
Nick Cochrane Founder & MD, Zebra People
Highly proactive, a strong communicator and presenter, and a true team player. He has a natural talent for unpacking complex domains and making them accessible to stakeholders and product & tech colleagues alike. What I particularly admire about him, and what makes him a particular asset, is his drive: he is always seeking next steps, always pushing things forward, while never losing sight of the ‘why’.
Joss Wyatt Head of Product, BPP
In his role at FCA, he was as a trailblazer for embedding a digital product operating model and ways of working whilst building an in-house design practice.
Neil brings a real depth of leadership skills. This shines through in how he manages and motivates the people around him, and in his ability to set a strategic vision and align people towards its delivery.
He communicates with crisp clarity, insight and gravitas, whilst remaining personable and approachable for stakeholders and team members alike.
